SHORT DESCRIPTION ABOUT BOOKS STUDIES:
To understand the basic concepts of Cotton fibers; Jute fibers; Linen and Hemp fiber; Sisal and coir fibers; Wool fibers; Silk fibers.

Subject Aims:

After completing this course, participants will be able to:
 To be able to understand computer network and information security.
 To be able to learn why network security is important
 To be able to explain network security prevention, detection and response.
 To be able to define and explain the concept of network confidentiality, information integrity, network availability, network auditability.
 To be able to understand management’s role in the development, implementation and maintenance of network security.
 To be able to understand security architecture, it’s principles, components and employment.
 To be able to understand the relationship between risks, threats, vulnerabilities and countermeasures.
 To be able to understand the need for constantly evaluating the status of security management.
 To be able to understand the difference between policies, procedures, standards, guidelines, encryption, cryptography terms, firewalls.
 To be able to understand operation of Virtual Private Networks, importance of authentication and the characteristics of a good password.

Subject Outcome:

Regarding textile fabric design

Students need to gather basic knowledge and skill on overall processes for wet processing, garments manufacturing, fashion design and merchandising before in depth study on specific subject matter as well as specialization. Fundamental knowledge and skills are the prerequisite to study specialized subjects. This course outlines the overview of wet processing and apparel manufacturing as well as introduces the basic knowledge of fashion design and merchandising.

The textile industry plays a very significant role in the GDP of Bangladesh. For the smooth running of this sector diploma textile engineers are required in the mid-level who are playing key roles in this sector. To prepare an appropriate diploma graduate should have sufficient knowledge in Apparel Manufacturing-I. To attain this objective, we have added this course to the diploma level which consists of apparel manufacturing process containing pattern making, pattern grading, marker making, CAD & CAM, fabric inspection, fabric relaxation, fabric spreading, and fabric cutting process. By acquiring that knowledge, skills and attitude students will be able to gather apparel manufacturing technology as well as able to study in further courses.

Many textile and fashion designers modernly use specialized forms of technology such as computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacture (CAM) to speed up the production process, reduce waste, and reduce labor costs overall. Textile manufacturers use CAM to make printed textiles and whole garments. The CAD information is sent to the CAM, which controls and manages the manufacturing process. Often CAM systems involve the use of CNC, or computer-numerical control machines, that control processes like cutting and joining garment segments. This subject objective is to know about CAD & CAM.

Offset machine operation is a critical process in the printing industry, involving several meticulous steps to ensure high-quality results. Initially, the machine is prepared by collecting job information and setting up the machine according to this data. The inking unit is controlled by measuring pH levels, roller hardness, and adjusting the roller gap to regulate ink supply. The feeding unit is then prepared by setting the sucker and blower, adjusting guides, and maintaining the feed board height. Sheet control involves setting various lays, measuring paper thickness, and adjusting the double sheet detector. Plates and blankets are cleaned, prepared, and preserved to ensure quality. During the printing process, the press is made ready, run for production, and cleaned as needed, with strict control over print registration for multi-color jobs. Safety measures are followed meticulously, raw materials are handled carefully, and management plays a crucial role in accident prevention. Finally, the delivery unit is set up by adjusting guides and maintaining the delivery chain gripper. Detailed record-keeping throughout these steps is essential for consistent and high-quality printing outcomes.
